The Tri-City Forest works to protect more than 6,500 acres of forest and captures more than 100,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide each year. The Tri-City Forest, in particular, generates income for the communities involved in the form of carbon stock in exchange for the benefits provided by the protected lands. This exchange allows the project to benefit the environment without removing an essential form of income from the surrounding community.
