We use natural self-hardening clay, which dries in the open air in 24 to 48 hours, to which fibers have been added for the make more resistant. We have chosen a made in Québec quality clay which is very flexible and easy to work with and whose feel merges with firing clay.
We use high viscosity, non-toxic, water-based quality acrylics. We chose a paint that is made here in Quebec.
No, and that's the beauty of the Terracotta club kits. We wanted to make pottery accessible to everyone at home, without the need to fire the pieces in a ceramic kiln.
On the other hand, as clay does not gets into a kiln, you will not be able to eat or drink in your creations, but you can make a host of other objects .
Really everything you want. The only limit is your imagination, but for some inspiration you can visit our gallery or our Instagram.
Popular pieces are pots for succulents and cacti, trinket dish / empty pocket plates, candle holders, wall decorations and vases for dried flowers. As the clay does not bake, it will remain sensitive to water, but the acrylic and varnish provided in the box will make it much more resistant.
If you choose to make a pot for your plant, we recommend that you leave your plant in its original pot and take it out for watering.
